Sometimes not always I get a 2nd relay click type sound. This happens after my pc has been on for about 1-2mins. It doesn't always happen though. Seems to happen more so after the pc has been off for a few hours. The psu is about 3 months old. It's a asus thor 1200w p2. Once it clicks it wont happen again. Unless the pc is off for awhile. Nothing happens to the pc when it clicks no stuttering, everything runs fine. Is this normal? Anyone else seen this before?

Could the sound of the PSU fan indicate it's turning on?

I watched and the fan it not coming on when the click happens. It has a 0db switch also that you can turn the fan off and on. No clicking happens when I do that.

If the sound is clearly coming from the PSU, something might be amiss. Apart from the fan noise, there should be no other sounds from a standard PSU. With 40 years of experience using PCs, I've never encountered such noises. Still, I can't pinpoint the exact issue and don't know if your PSU is functioning properly.

It might be coming from another source and giving it a psu sound. Would an aio pump produce that single click? Or the motherboard? It's not the GPU, since I removed it and used igpu; the click persisted. I changed all the case fans two weeks ago too, but the noise was already there. That’s quite unusual.

When examining PSU issues, particularly with Asus units, reports indicate a clicking or clacking sound from the power supply. Most agree it's a relay that activates when voltage stabilizes and switches on, producing the noise. No damage has been observed.

That makes sense regarding the occasional occurrence. Thank you for checking. I wasn't able to locate any specific information on that topic.
