I'm puzzled by this issue: the power button LED remains illuminated even after an unexpected PC shutdown. 🤔

Windows is configured to never hibernate or sleep. The only solution was disconnecting the AC power—either unplugging the outlet or switching off the PSU switch, which caused the LED to turn off within seconds. After reconnecting the power and restarting the system, it worked again.

In October, I performed a clean Windows 11 reinstall (formatting C:\), which improved boot times and prevented lockups. This issue reappeared in December.

Otherwise, the PC operates normally.

Any suggestions? Could you run any tests on the power supply or motherboard?

Locking up problems are typically related to RAM, often leading to hanging issues. Also, what do you mean by unexpected shutdowns?

beyondlogic, I've turned off Hybrid Sleep in the Control Panel and Fast Startup. I cycled powercfg -h off then on, ran sfc /scannow, and rebooted several times. This only occurs when the PC has been idle for 2-5 days, so we'll need to wait to determine if it resolved the issue. It might take a month or longer. I'll keep you updated.
