I think it was turned off. I kept the BIOS settings unchanged since the first boot, assuming they were disabled by default. I'll check again and perform further testing.

Do the expo profiles exist solely for overclocking purposes? Yes, you can keep them turned off in the BIOS settings.

They operate at the standard 4800Hz, yet during EXPO it reaches 6000Hz, a frequency range AMD highlighted as ideal for the 7000 series.

Thank you for your messages. Apologies for the slow response. I was thinking of replacing the memory when I can afford it, probably in a few weeks.
On the other hand, while reading more about xmp/expo, I had another inquiry.
I don’t find any specific lists for Ryzen 5 7600x compatible memory—just that it works with DDR5 up to 5200mhz. Faster speeds would require enabling overclocking in the BIOS.
I know my memory is xmp optimized, but it looks like most of the memory listed for my MSI motherboard is also compatible. Of course, since the motherboard is the main component and the CPU is separate, I think MSI’s list might not be crucial if the problem lies with the Ryzen not running well with xmp...
Have I missed anything? Is there a detailed list of memory that works with the Ryzen 5 7600x?

Sorry for the delay in my response. I was planning to replace the memory when I could afford it, which would happen in a few weeks. But after reading some information about xmp/expo and compatible memory, I started experimenting with different approaches.

I simply reinstalled the memory, reset the CMOS, and turned on XMP in the BIOS. The performance then displayed correctly in the BIOS view (it was showing 4800 instead of 5200 before).

I'm about halfway through a memory diagnostic, and one positive sign is that the status still indicates no issues. Earlier it reported a hardware problem right from the start.

Could this simple adjustment have caused my issue?
To be honest, I'm also running without the GPU at the moment, so if the memory tests pass, I think the next step should be testing the GPU. Although the GPU is working well in my old system...
Update: The memory diagnostic came back clean. The PC has been running (without GPU) for a couple of hours without any BSODs. I'll try putting the GPU back in tomorrow and see how it goes.
There were several errors in the event viewer related to Corsair, svchost, explorer, aggregatorhost, and perfdiag logger... I'll look up more info after dinner ;-)

Even though I remain anxious each time I start up or perform any action, everything is functioning quite well now with the original memory, bios xmp active, and my old gtx 1660 GPU.
Next step, save up for a new GPU and hope for the best!
Thanks y'all.
