Question PC won’t POST after swapping Motherboard, CPU and RAM - - - am I making a mistake?
I’ve experimented with various Intel CPUs, motherboards, and RAM configurations, but I’ve decided to move away from Intel now.
My setup includes a Ryzen 7 X3D processor, an AM5 motherboard, and DDR5 memory.
There’s no startup detected, and the CPU and RAM indicators remain active.
I’ve assembled several PCs before, replaced the CPU firmly, verified the motherboard connections, and checked the motherboard pins for any damage.
I’m uncertain if I’m making mistakes, but my intuition suggests the power supply unit might be faulty.
I own a Corsair 850 from around 2018-19, which could help someone with the same problem.
I’ve invested a lot in this process.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's important to provide detailed information about your setup. Please list all system specifications in the following order:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model.
Since you upgraded, mention the components you replaced. Did you test the parts before reassembling your system using the new components? Were the RAM slots A2 and B2 populated on your motherboard?
