Hello everyone,

I’m facing frequent crashes on my PC, especially when switching on the XMP profile for my RAM. The issues appear right away during gaming sessions. When XMP is off, the system runs smoothly, even under stress and while playing games. Here’s a summary of my setup and what I’ve tried:

PC Specifications:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B660M DS3H DDR4
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F
- GPU: Zotac GAMING Twin Edge OC GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR (8GB)
- CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB, DDR4-3200, CL18)
- PSU: NZXT C650 (2022, 650W, 80+ Gold Certified, Fully Modular)
- Case: be quiet! Pure Base 500DX
- I’ve kept this system running for more than a year without any problems.

Recently, while moving my desk, I disconnected all cables and accidentally swapped the power cords between the monitor and PSU (both use C13 connectors and are rated the same). After reconnecting everything, the PC started working briefly—about 30 seconds—before I restarted it. I suspected a cable mix-up and changed the cables to fix it.

However, after that incident, the system wouldn’t boot properly. A red light on the motherboard indicated DRAM-to-CPU activity, but there was no display. Eventually, I managed to boot by repositioning the RAM slots (from 2nd/4th to 1st/3rd). Now it works fine with XMP disabled. But when I enable XMP and play games, the PC crashes almost instantly. Sometimes it freezes and shuts down, other times it shows a blue error screen briefly before restarting.

I want to be clear—I had no problems before this. The crashes only happened after I mixed up the cables, which I think may have damaged some components.

Could using the monitor cable on the PSU for 30 seconds have caused damage to my PSU or other parts, even if voltages seem normal? I don’t have any spare parts, but I’d appreciate your advice or suggestions to help identify what might be wrong.
