Question PC Failure - Is it a mobile or power supply issue?
Yesterday, while working on Terragen—a software that relies heavily on the CPU—I experimented with render settings and observed the CPU heating up noticeably during viewport rendering. I lacked an effective cooling setup, relying only on the standard cooler that failed to activate properly when the system froze abruptly, displaying a black screen. After restarting, the CPU, GPU, and PSU fans didn’t start up, though the GPU’s LED remained lit, suggesting power was reaching it but the system still wouldn’t boot. I attempted to power off and then turn it back on, hearing a strange “zapping” sound upon restart. From that moment on, the system failed to boot at all. I’m still uncertain about the GPU LED issue, especially if the PSU is dead, since it’s unclear how it could receive power. I tried checking the red LED on the GPU, which lit up when the 6-pin connector was unplugged, implying some functionality remained—possibly the motherboard—but I’m puzzled about power delivery. I’m new to this and apologize for missing details.

How long has the PSU been there?
If it's more than five years and not covered by warranty, you probably need a replacement. Before purchasing, borrow a PSU if possible and check if your computer starts properly.
PSUs lose efficiency over time. It's likely your PSU had trouble providing power for some time before failing completely.
That's correct, the seller didn't mention how long the PC had been used. I think the failure is due to the very low quality of the PSU (no 80+ rating at all, probably not even handling 600 watts). Also, I can't really borrow a PSU from someone because I'm new to this community and haven't met many people there. I could ask my tech school for help testing the components, maybe they'd be willing to let me do that.
Odd PSU has a lower price but isn't that inexpensive to clearly indicate poor quality.
Based on the other parts, it seems to be fairly outdated.
It's best to purchase a fresh PSU and pray the previous one didn't harm anything inside the machine.
