My system details:
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX
RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAWS 2 x 16gv
Motherboard: ASROCK Killer SLI X370 A/C
RAM: 32 GB
SSD1: NVME 1TB
SSD2: 1TB SSD

The problem:
When I launch GTA Online, my PC frequently crashes—about nine times out of ten. The crashes become more frequent when I’m driving quickly or when other apps like browsers, Discord, or Spotify are running. I also play on modded GTAV servers based on RAGEMP; in those cases, the crashes intensify and sometimes my PC restarts during the loading screen.

How it occurs:
- Logging into GTA Online or a RAGEMP server works normally, but my screen goes blank and the PC restarts. Occasionally, a BSOD error appears for a brief moment before the system recovers.
- Other times, while driving fast with multiple applications open, the game freezes and then restarts completely.

What I’ve attempted:
- Applied new thermal paste to the CPU to check for overheating.
- Installed the latest NVIDIA drivers.
- Switched my game from NVME to SSD, but crashes persist on both drives.
- Couldn’t locate any BSOD messages; it seems my PC doesn’t save crash data when it fails.
- This issue has persisted for what feels like an endless period. My favorite title is Conan Exiles (2017), which I’ve never experienced the same problems with compared to GTAV.
- Generally, other games run fine, but this frustrating GTAV problem keeps me from enjoying high-speed police chases again.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
What is the BIOS version for your motherboard right now?
You didn't specify the brand, model, and age of your power supply unit.
Have you used any other games besides a modified GTA V?

Consider turning off all overlays, particularly the Discord one, as they’ve caused crashes in GTA Online. Additionally, attempt to run the game alone, without any other apps open.

I plan to test this now, thanks.
Appreciate the update to my parts to account for the PSU addition. It's a Corsair RM650x from 2018.
Regarding other titles, I've played CSGO, Valorant, and APEX LEGENDS, but haven't really faced the problem except on APEX LEGENDS once—don't play them often.
My current BIOS version of the motherboard is: P5.40

I ran some stress tests on the GPU without any issues. I also tested the CPU under similar conditions. Now, I plan to update my BIOS since it seems quite outdated. I turned off the overlays too. I’m hoping this fixes the problem.

I upgraded my BIOS from 5.40 to 7.10 and the computer feels quite different now. It was 4.50 when I bought it, before upgrading a year ago. The problem began suddenly with BIOS version 4.50 and then again with 5.40. It’s strange because GTAV and RAGEMP worked perfectly when I first set up the PC in 2017 for about two years. Maybe if it still crashes later, the PSU is the issue? I’ll let you know if I encounter more problems.

I noticed GTA V can be affected by unstable memory overclocks. It's a good idea to perform prime95 large FFTs for a short period—at least three times—to verify memory stability.

After what felt like a couple of weeks without any problems, the problem reappeared once more. My PC shut down abruptly to a black screen and displayed the usual Windows 11 BSOD message. It transitioned quickly from 0 to 100% and then restarted. There were no BSOD logs recorded again. This occurred twice within ten minutes after restarting the game. I plan to try this now.

After examining the event viewer, I noticed these two errors appearing almost every time the game crashes. Critical: Error: I will investigate this clue since it seems connected to my crashes. If anyone has any information about these errors in relation to GTA V, please reply—it would really assist me.

Is GTA V the sole issue? Occasionally, other programs trigger system restarts.
