Question Overclocking Ryzen 3 2200g with stock cooler
You can definitely use the Deep Cool Gammaxx 300 with your Ryzen 3 2200G.
Never realize you should try. Do some research on upgrading that CPU and maybe check some motherboard details to see the results. You can always go back to a lower speed if things get too hot. I know I can run my older Ryzen 5 1400 at full core clock with 3400mhz and keep temperatures down with a standard cooler. Anything higher becomes too warm for comfort. With an H80, I managed more performance and still handled stress tests well without issues.
Overclocking a 2200 model has its restrictions, but the built-in cooler generally performs adequately if you allow the fan to reach high speeds. This approach will increase noise levels.
The Gammaxx seems to improve sound quality at least as much as it enhances cooling, and it also ensures proper airflow over the VRM, which is beneficial for most AM4 boards.
If you aim for even better performance without sacrificing quietness, consider starting with the original cooler before exploring aftermarket options.
I totally understand! And this is on the stock cooler. I haven’t pushed it any further yet, and probably won’t until I get an aftermarket one, mainly because I’m in a hot country.
But so far everything is fine, and it has actually surpassed my expectations
I mean the Ryzen 3 2200G
And by the way, the gigabyte a320m-s2h v2 has been upgraded significantly. This is the second version of the original board, featuring a B350 chipset.
