Hello!
I'm just starting out with overclocking and I'm attempting to boost my i5 4690k to 4.4 ghz.
I purchased a Corsair H60 cooler and adjusted the multiplier to 44, setting the Vcore to 1.25.
After launching Windows, I ran an Intel burn test and checked with Speecy and RealTemp for temperatures.
The BIOS displays the CPU running at 4.4 ghz, but it doesn't work properly in Windows. It keeps showing 3.5ghz even when IntelBurnTest is high.
The Vcore remains at 1.25 despite the settings I changed.
I'm confused about why it doesn't reach the desired speed.
Anyone have any ideas or advice?

Generally, it's not advisable to overclock H97. A Z series board is necessary. Many overclocking options available for H97 were eliminated through microcode updates. To attempt overclocking, you must use a Z series board.

Well, I did manage to push the speed a bit, though I'm not sure exactly how. It seemed to work after adjusting the same settings.

Do not change your BIOS settings, as doing so may remove the overclocking function. It's best to use a board that hasn't received any BIOS updates, since I believe the overclocking feature was disabled on H97 at one time.

This would be a screenshot taken during use of HWmonitor.

Alternatively, use HWinfo with the "Sensors only" setting. Disable the "summary" option.

I recall changing the BIOS a while back since the computer wasn't starting properly. They probably released an update that prevents OC after I installed mine. Looks like I'm lucky then haha

Yes, I'd disregard what Intelburntest is stating regarding speed since it's clearly operating at the intended overclock level.

It seems everything is functioning properly for you. Now it's time to carry out the thermal and stability tests. You absolutely must perform them. File corruption due to instability can occur. There should be no visible signs of instability like blue screens or freezing, which would indicate a lack of stability or thermal compliance. Begin with the thermal testing first.
