Hello
I’m currently using Cs Go on my PC.
My specs are: I5 7400, Msi Gtx 1050 ti, MSI z270 Gaming pro Carbon, 2x8gb RAM at 3200mhz, and a 400 watt power supply.

When setting up my system, I made some mistakes regarding the CPU power configuration.
Right now I’m thinking about upgrading to a new i5 8th or 9th generation, but unfortunately they won’t fit on my mainboard, so I’m sticking with what I have. I don’t want to buy a new motherboard.

In December I plan to upgrade to the i5 6600k or i7 7700k.
But at the moment I’m stuck with the i5 7400.
Can I overclock the i5 7400? My boost clock is 3300mhz and I’d like to push it up to 4.2 or higher? Is that even doable?

Because of the lack of a non-K CPU, overclocking isn't possible.
It's difficult to overclock without a simple method, particularly with the standard cooler in place.
You might be able to achieve base clock overclock thanks to the z series chipset, though this could have negative effects.

the sole method to speed up is to raise BCLK, which may lead to issues such as data loss on your drives over time.

Sure, then I need to wait until I purchase a new CPU.
