Slightly overclocked my 989 TI, achieving about 1350 to 1400mhz core speed with a +200 boost. That seems logical.
Memory speed is up by +400, reaching around 4000mhz. Yet all forums suggest it should be near 8000. What might I be overlooking?
I'm using OC and monitoring via MSI Afterburner.

I don't understand why Nvidia and AMD behave differently, but with NVidia you usually see around 3505 MHz in benchmarks, which you just double to get the real speed. With AMD it's another way, it would state 1500 MHz for memory and then multiply by four.

Thank you in advance. The performance is now smooth at 60fps in 4k, especially at higher temperatures. With the fan set to auto around 65-70%, would it be wise to adjust the temperature? I only play for about 2 to 3 hours daily.

Thank you in advance. The system is now running smoothly at 60fps in 4k at around 80-81 degrees with the fan set to auto around 65 to 70%. Should I adjust the temperature? I only play for about 2 to 3 hours each day. What card do you have? On my 980 Ti, there were three fan profiles—'Silent', 'Default', and 'Performance'—and changing it to performance significantly reduced the temperatures for me. Would you like to try a different fan curve or make some adjustments?

It's a Windforce with three fans. I'm planning to install a custom fan. Are there any drawbacks to using 90-100% of the fan capacity? Apart from noise, which I don't mind since the soundbar is already loud. Does operating at full fan speed cause the fans to wear out faster?

Thank you for your time
The OC was my response to the Pascal news. Not a bad one either.

Laskoir :

Lol
😛
Try tweaking the custom BIOS there and pushing it to its limits, shouting "you’ll act like a 1080!"
This is the top result I’ve seen so far – http://www.3dmark.com/fs/6494948
It’s basically a reference card with the ACX 2.0+ cooler added and a custom BIOS, remember the core clock was 1534 MHz?

Playing on a 4k screen means I won't exceed 60fps. Around 1450 and 7800 gave me that smooth 60fps. I'm pleased with it. Surprisingly, I used to play at 45 to 50fps without realizing until now. I'm really excited tonight.
