I assembled the PC in late summer 2022 with the Corsair CX750F RGB. Since then, a peculiar odor has been emanating from my computer, followed by an unusual sensation in my throat. The smell has become stronger recently, and I looked into it and found it likely related to the power supply unit. I removed it to check if that was the cause. Additionally, would you mind letting me know if this could affect my lungs, given that I am a serious athlete? Thank you.

A new psu might release some smell temporarily as the flux dissipates. However, after a while, I suspect there could be an issue with the psu and you should consider replacing it. It is probably still covered under warranty. Alternatively, opt for a higher quality replacement and ensure it comes with at least a 7-year warranty. In the meantime, to stay safe, wear an N95 mask.
