Hello. I recently acquired
a used HP 14s Laptop
and after installing the latest Windows 10 version, my Wi-Fi settings aren't displaying.
What I attempted:
Activating airplane mode. It seems this laptop might have a physical Wi-Fi activation method besides the F12 key, but I couldn't locate it.
Troubleshooting steps: it completes in 3 seconds and says everything is fine.
Changing network settings in Network and Sharing
and enabling boot from network in BIOS
Repeatedly restarting the laptop
It's worth noting that in Device Manager there are no Wi-Fi adapters listed. Could this indicate a hardware issue? Is there a method to verify if it's damaged or just a software problem?
I'm looking for advice.

HP 14s and the specific model you're referring to are numerous. What is the hardware ID for the device listed under "Other devices"? You might want to try HP Support Assistant 9 for assistance.

Open PowerShell and run the Get-PNPDevice cmdlet. This will display a list of all devices with their status, class, and friendly name. It can be helpful when checking other device issues, especially since it lists used laptops. For more details, refer to the official guide: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/p...ev...ver2025-ps. The Get cmdlets don’t alter results and allow filtering for better control. You can also look up examples to understand its usage better.

Other devices might include a BIOS option to turn off the wifi/BT connection. Look into that possibility. Additionally, the adapter could have been taken out for safekeeping. Finally, there might be an issue with the product itself.

I purchased a USB to LAN adapter and connected the laptop directly to the internet. It just downloaded network drivers. It was unusual since this was the first time Win 10 didn't automatically install network drivers, so I suspected a possible adapter issue. Anyway, it's resolved. Thanks for your assistance!
