Question No post - Power supply shutting off
I recently purchased all the necessary parts for a new PC, but after putting it together, it wouldn’t power on. When the PSU was switched on or connected, the fans and lights would start up first, then after about 3 to 5 seconds, a click sound from the PSU would occur—suggesting it was shutting down? This happened while all fans and lights stopped, and the power button didn’t turn the PC back on.
I thought there might be a BIOS issue and updated it, during which the computer remained active for the duration of the update with the LED blinking as expected, but then it shut down right away and wouldn’t restart.
This problem persists even after removing the GPU, using my old (working) PSU and cables, clearing CMOS, and reassembling the PC completely. I’ve also followed most of the instructions from the “No post” forum, but I don’t have a debug speaker or LED to confirm anything.
I bought it new from the box, but it’s still within the return window, so I can request a replacement if needed.

- Storage: 1TB SN850x NVMe
- GPU: Gigabyte 3070ti
- PSU: Corsair SF850L
What did "open box" refer to? Is your board version 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2?
It seems the board supports BIOS for X3D processors from the first release, so that shouldn’t be the issue. Did you install both the 24-pin ATX connector and the two 4-pin EPS/CPU connectors at the top left of the motherboard? If yes, it’s best to remove the CPU and check for bent pins on the board. If none are found, a return might be necessary since these parts typically only get returned when they fail to function properly or if something is damaged during shipping. It’s probably the board that needs attention.
Everything else was brand new, not used or open box, right? If so, then it's pretty much gotta be the board. Have you TRIED it with no graphics card installed and monitor plugged into the motherboard video output just to be absolutely sure it's not a problem with the graphics card?
If so, and if you get this same behavior with no graphics card, no storage devices and no other connected hardware such as USB mouse or keyboard, and ONLY the CPU and memory installed, then it pretty much has to be the board or the CPU, and since it was open box, makes the board very likely.
Once it emits the click sound, I need to switch the PSU off to restart it, but this doesn't consistently function and I'll also have to disconnect it from the wall. The power button inside the case doesn't activate it under any circumstances, only the PSU switch.
All components are fresh except for the motherboard, and my GPU is still working well in its previous setup. I attempted to run without a GPU and connected the HDMI+DP cable to the motherboard, but the system followed the same pattern of powering on, fans spinning, and then shutting down after about 3 to 5 seconds.
Have you attempted using NO front case panel cables connected to the motherboard? As shown in the linked video, it's possible you might have made a mistake. Although unlikely here, any issue could exist, such as problems with the front I/O mini board or wiring that aren't your fault.
