my cpu still displays a maximum of 4.4ghz in ryzen master after reinstalling, and I can't adjust any profiles to reduce the speeds ;[ and voltage]

It's not about overclocking, it's just fulfilling its role as intended. Refer to it as boosting or turbo—it means everything is functioning correctly. If the system remains running at maximum speed, there might be an issue with your Windows setup. Check your Task Manager for any processes consuming high CPU usage; if idle usage is only 1-2%, it suggests a false idle state.

Hey there,
Yes, this is perfectly normal , and very much preferred. Ryzen chips have a boost algorythm that allows the CPU to boost it's cores up to 4.4ghz. If there is enough thermal headroom, then the CPU can boost all cores to that speed.
You should not worry, and be happy your CPU is working as intended.

ye it was windows right away after I rebooted everything, everything returned to normal with boosts back to 4.4ghz, though now only when playing games. When I stop using it, it drops to about 2.5 to 3.8ghz. If i don’t use it much, that’s okay. I’m planning to upgrade soon to a Ryzen 7 5700x or 5800x. 😛

Voltage is also acceptable at 1.475, just to double-check and avoid any issues since I already have the CPU. 😊

What graphics card are you using? Updates to Radeon Settings for some AMD cards require installing the Ryzenmaster driver. It can apply minor PBO overclock adjustments. This affects my setup with an RX 6800 XT and 5800X, which disrupts the customized PBO profile I've set up. You can modify this by disabling the task run at each startup in the Task Scheduler to bypass the driver installation.
