Question My prebuild PC using a VS550 PSU is often not starting.
Hi, I purchased a computer from a mass seller. It has been working for three days, but yesterday it stopped functioning. I performed general diagnostics on the GPU, RAM, and PSU, except the PSU itself. After some time it returned to normal operation. I conducted a stress test and everything functioned perfectly. When I turned it off, it didn’t power back on, and today I decided to run a test using pins 4 and 5. The fan wasn’t spinning, but the LEDs on the motherboard and GPU were still on during testing. If anyone has any advice, I’m on a tight budget and plan to have it tested by a friend in a week.
In short: bought a PC, used it for three days, then stopped working. PSU fan isn’t spinning, but the LEDs on the GPU and motherboard remained active. Should I replace the PSU? Budget is limited, and I’ll test it soon.
Specs:
- Ryzen 5 2600
- 16 GB RAM dual 3200 MHz
- GTX 1650 gaming edition (requires 6-pin connector)
- Motherboard: B450 Aurora
- 1 HDD and 2 SSDs
Hello, could you provide the power supply's make and model? I'm concerned about it and would like to check or replace it.
You can buy a fresh 650w module power supply on amazon for around $90.00 USD. But since you already have an older version, you're wondering how much extra you'd need to spend.
The hole PC price was 160 euros, but I'm still unsure if that's correct if it's the PSU issue.
