yeah i'm running hwmonitor alongside afterburner, thinking the gpu might be overheating. Using afterburner helped a bit, and now i've managed about 80 minutes of nightreign without it crashing. Can't say it's fully fixed, but it worked.

GPUs naturally lose performance over time (all hardware eventually does) and may become too hot or unstable at higher speeds. Dust buildup can be removed by cleaning the GPU with a blower, as it's likely filled with particles. Another approach is to lower the GPU's clock speed slightly, which can restore stability but isn't a permanent solution. It's better to consider replacing your GPU before it fails completely.

the afterburner setting was adjusted to control the voltage or temperature values. without it, the temperature rises significantly.

adjust the temperature to stay at 80, otherwise it will rise to around 90, which is extremely hot. This signals the system is nearing its end. I don’t have any resources left, so when it happens, I’ll be ready.

No, that's not correct. Disconnect the Titan X, link the monitor to MoBo, and keep using your PC. Browsing the web is easy with an iGPU. For gaming, Minecraft is a good choice.

repasting might also assist by adjusting the fan curve more aggressively
