The keyboard began disconnecting during use and while connected to RGB lights. When unplugged or using a dongle, it functions properly. My friend suggested the battery might be overloaded, which could cause self-shutdown for protection. I’m not sure what to say about that. Anyone know what’s going on with the Redragon K616?

when employing a "dongle," the lights operate correctly as intended. i assume you're referring to a usb receiver designed for wireless connectivity? are you asking about its performance when connected via its standard included usb cable?

I refer to the receiver as a dongle and whenever I connect the keyboard, the lights activate and it remains connected. I mainly use it with the USB cable provided in the box, but I've tested other cables too; they still disconnect when the RGB lights are on.

Check the device manager and verify the settings under properties.

i would like to request a replacement or repair for the keyboard, or if it was bought recently just want to send it back to the store where it was purchased. it shouldn't behave this way, and even if a solution is found, it might only be a temporary fix. first, you could look at the manufacturer's support forums to check if other users are facing similar issues.

How the keyboard is linked via cable to a USB port is unclear. Is it the sole device connected to that computer case socket? Or does it connect to a USB hub with additional devices? IF you have it AND other devices plugged into the hub and all connected to one computer USB port, there might not be sufficient power being delivered from that port.

Can you try using the keyboard on a different computer you know works, or test another working keyboard on your own machine via the same connection? Find out whether the issue remains on the computer or moves to the keyboard.
