Question My games crash and i can't figure out why?
So here are your PC details:
Motherboard: Asus PRIME Z390-A ATX LGA1151
CPU: Intel core i7-9700k
GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 SUPER
Power Supply: Corsair RM650 (2019) 650 W
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 2 SSDs – one 1TB and another 250GB
I've been using all these components since 2020 when I assembled the system.
The problem seems to be game crashes while rendering open worlds. The most affected titles are Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Origins, Fortnite, and Devil May Cry 5. These games either crash every five minutes or fail to crash for hours before doing so.
I've updated the drivers, reinstalled the graphics driver, and checked the game files, but I'm still unsure what to do next.
Update your specs list to include PSU make, model, and an estimated age.
The PSU looks capable enough with enough wattage for the requirements, so it might not be possible to eliminate it.
Here are some straightforward suggestions:
1 use dx diag to check for any issues.
2 insert memory diagnosis into the run box and allow it to complete; if RAM is bad it will notify you but won’t specify which stick fails.
3 access reliability monitor and examine red x marked crash logs.
4 start a game known to crash, exit it, open Task Manager, check the performance section, and observe if any components spike in activity. Keep the task manager open while watching the graphs around the crash point.
5 after system starts, most GPUs won’t activate until around 72 degrees—verify functionality and note any indicators.
6 begin a game prone to crashing, set all settings and effects to their lowest or off positions; if it doesn’t crash, gradually adjust settings and wait for an incident.
FOOTNOTE.......... unless you possess advanced visual abilities, it’s surprising how much you can adjust certain settings without actually noticing the change.
Example: I own a GTX1080 and perform well at 60 fps instead of the maximum 144; the hardware is large, and honestly I can’t tell if there’s a difference, but the advantage is it runs smoothly at 70 degrees rather than 84.
