Question My E440 laptop stops working after intense tasks
I have a Lenovo E440 laptop thatâs been around for about eight years, running Windows 10. About once a year, during heavy tasks or when opening multiple apps, the app freezes for roughly ten seconds. Then explorer.exe stops, followed by the taskbar and start menu freezing, and eventually explorer.exe crashes, causing the taskbar and all explorer windows to shut down. đ
Sometimes the mouse cursor also freezes briefly. This occurs around ten times a day.
It seems unlikely to be caused by software issuesâreinstalling a newer Windows 10 update resolved the problem, and it became less frequent as the system ran lighter.
The issue doesnât appear related to RAM, battery, charger, WiFi, or other components.
How can I confirm whether the problem stems from an SSD (which would be easily replaceable) or from the CPU/Motherboard or another part?
