I recently bought a new ASUS 3060 GPU in a box, but when trying to install NVIDIA drivers, it reports no NVIDIA hardware detected. It shows up as a Radeon RX 5500 XT, which is confusing since I just swapped my 1660 Ti for the 3060 last night. Here are the details: OS Windows 10.0.19045, CPU AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, cooler Noctua NH-L9x65, motherboard MSI B450 TOMAHAWK, 8 GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX memory, and the GPU is ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 V2 (12GB). Previously I had an MSI VENTUS XS OC GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (6 GB). The case is Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower, and the power supply is Corsair CX550M W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX.

Check out the Asus card images on imgur.com. Searching for Asus 3060 and Asus 5500 xt shows they resemble each other quite a bit.

Did you buy it from an authorized seller?

I purchased it second-hand from a reliable seller, and from our conversations, it appears he was unaware of its condition when he acquired it. He let me keep it, but he has already issued a refund for it. I think I’ll continue using my 1660 Ti for now.

It seems like you might have been tricked. I'm here to help, but I can't promise anything.
