Question My CMOS battery dropped from my hands and the monitor showed this.
I was just recharging my CMOS battery because a black screen appeared on my screen when I started up. This has occurred at least three times now, and this is the first time it happened to me. After placing the CMOS battery, I booted up my PC and saw this error screen, which I believe is due to the battery having fallen from my hand. Did I damage it?
The battery isn't upside down. There might be other reasons for this occurrence. Also, after turning on your PC without touching the F2 button, it immediately went into BIOS—what could explain that?
Reboot and choose the right boot device.
That might involve several possibilities.
Am I interpreting this accurately?
You didn’t make any changes to your CMOS battery until you received this message.
That seems correct.
If not, share the precise steps.
Yeah, I did not do anything on the CMOS battery and there is a continuation on the "Reboot and Select proper Boot Device if you did not notice. I can tell you the sequence of events sure.
I recently purchased a GPU online, specifically an AMD Radeon 7470. I didn’t really think about researching it beforehand; all I knew was it was affordable and seemed to perform reasonably well for my needs. Once I got it, I installed it on my PC right away. However, when I tried to use it, my monitor displayed nothing, so I followed some YouTube tips—like removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes, cleaning the RAM, and connecting the display cable to both the GPU and motherboard. After doing that, when I powered it up, the screen appeared normal. I kept experimenting with adjustments, but eventually gave up on getting the GPU and decided to boot my PC without it. But after restarting multiple times and making small changes like entering recovery mode, I still encountered a black screen with random messages. Additionally, I had uninstalled my original Intel Graphics drivers, thinking it would be better to download them first before installing the GPU.
I fixed it, there was some wiring I had overlooked that I removed earlier because I couldn't take out the GPU—it was hidden under it. I took out that wiring so I could remove the GPU. Then I put it back in and it booted up. Thanks for sharing this info. Just re-reading everything you said helped me remember😓. My mistake if I wasted your time.
But after removing the GPU and restarting, the display appeared as usual. What CPU and motherboard are these?
