I checked various sources and found many reports of similar problems, but no confirmed solution that worked for me.
I own an MSI Z170A Carbon motherboard with XMP enabled, yet the system fails to boot and displays a failure message.
My RAM is Adata 2800-DDR4 2OZ, with two 8GB chips installed in slots 1 and 3.
According to CPUZ, the timings are 17,17,17,36 at 1.2 volts. I entered these settings and rebooted, but CPUZ still shows a DRAM frequency of 1066 MHz.
My processor is an i7-6700K.
CPUZ suggests the memory should operate at 1400 MHz in XMP mode—am I misinterpreting the readings?
Appreciate any guidance you can provide.
