Dear all
The initial Paint version in Windows 11 (without layer support) and the most recent Paint version in Windows 11 (with layer support) produce identical 24-bitmap files.
Paint 11.2311.30.0 – current Paint version – with layer function
Paint 10.2104.17.0 – initial Paint version – without layer function
First steps:
Execute the older Paint 10.2104.17.0 – first Paint version – without layer support
Avoid opening additional files
Set the canvas size to 100 x 100 and fill it with white
Preserve the default motive as a 24-bit bitmap

When early Windows 11 Paint versions without layer support produced a 24-bitmap file, they followed the same process as the most recent Windows 11 Paint version that includes layers. Examine each step closely.

File formats with .bmp extensions?
In Post #3, someone mentioned comparing them bit by bit.
Regarding PowerShell's "Get-FileHash", the link explains its role in securely verifying file integrity.
The goal is to detect any alterations to a file's contents.
You'll need a consistent starting point for testing the files described.
What exactly are you trying to achieve?

I would like to find out if the two Paint versions:
Paint 11.2311.30.0 – the most recent Paint version with layer function
Paint 10.2104.17.0 – the earlier version without layer function
Can be converted into .bmp / 24-bitmap files with identical bits, just like before.

I was just wondering
I tried an experiment on my own:
Windows 10 with an older Paint version
I opened Paint and made a 10x10 24-bit bitmap file A
Sent file A to another system running Windows 11 with the latest Paint version
On the same machine, I opened Paint 11 and created file B
Comparing the two files bit by bit
They match perfectly
That's how it turned out
