Question Macrium Reflect: transferring files
Question Macrium Reflect: transferring files
I wanted to let anyone interested know I discovered a limitation with the free version of Macrium Reflect 7. It seems I could only restore an image to a single partition on the entire drive. Perhaps the paid version offers the ability to restore to multiple partitions, allowing for more flexibility.
I was particularly surprised after imaging my entire HDD and restoring it to a non-OS SSD, that the default settings didn’t remove a prior restore of one partition. Instead, it utilized the remaining available space (formatted space). By default, it only writes to used clusters, which means my second SSD now contains only the two partitions—effectively restoring them much smaller—and I had deleted a previously restored duplicate partition. Then I just changed the drive letters.
