Hi, I’m wondering if you could assist me?
I’m trying to understand why my stock CPU scores higher than the overclocked one in Cinebench. I’m not sure what’s causing it, but my overclock seems fine and the voltage is good.
Stock = 3.62 GHz
Oc = 4.2 GHz
It’s an FX CPU from my old machine, and I’m just experimenting to see if you can help me figure this out. Thank you very much! 😃

It seems like the system is probably running an unstable overclock.

I agree with Loaf, it seems like an unstable overclock. A few questions though—what FX CPU do you have? What motherboard are you using? There were many motherboards back then that could work with an FX 8 core CPU, but once it was overclocked, many couldn't handle the heat and would throttle under load, especially when the VRM got too hot. It would be helpful to know what board you're on.
