Hi!
I also had an almost new Lenovo laptop where the fans would turn on during light tasks. I used HWinfo and checked temperatures, which showed the CPU heating up a lot when idle or doing small jobs. The PC went to a service center, and they replaced the cooling module. It still works fine. Here are the images:

Any advice on what might be causing this?

Consider checking if unlocking your Lenovo laptop or mobile device affects performance. It might help to identify any unnecessary startup programs or background applications consuming resources. Using the serial number or part number on Lenovo's support site could reveal pending updates for your device. The final step would be adjusting PL1 and PL2 settings to manage thermal throttling.
