Question Lenovo ThinkCentre M710s Intel core i5-7400 No display
I recently acquired this system from Ebay. The seller indicated it was booting to BIOS, having been sold without a power source. I installed a hard drive and tried to start the system, but I’m not getting any output through the DisplayPort or with a powered VGA to HDMI adapter.
I’ve already checked if the RAM is properly seated and that didn’t help. Also, booting without the drive installed produced the same issue.
When connected via DisplayPort, the monitor wakes up from sleep, but it only shows "no signal" and reverts back to sleep.
The drive in the system was fully formatted and contains no files or data.
Did the monitor input selection switch to displayport? VGA to dp or hdmi adapters aren't very reliable, so stick with DP. Instructions for accessing the bios are available in the Lenovo forums. Alternatively, attempt booting from a usb stick with memtest included.
I'm uncertain about the display settings, as I can't see any indicators. It seems like the monitor might be transmitting a signal through the display port.
Turn on the device and press F1 on the keyboard repeatedly.

This method successfully establishes a connection. Now the system displays a black screen with the following prompts:
>>checking Media
>>Media Present
>>Start PXE Over
I managed to resolve it by going into bios and adjusting the boot devices. It was attempting to boot from a non-existent m.2 drive. Everything is now working properly, the OS is installed, and everything looks good. Thanks!
