Constructing a new machine to supersede an existing one. I prefer the names. I intend to reinstall a brand-new Windows copy onto the old system and rename it once the transfer is done, but during this period, could there be any issues with two computers sharing the same name on a local network? The IP addresses would differ.

It's understandable, though I'm not entirely sure. I think enabling network discovery might lead to conflicts. I'd consider adding a symbol like # to the existing option and then removing it during the clean installation as planned.

Adjusting the name of the current machine appears straightforward. I should proceed with that.

Even with identical usernames, the NTFS ID remains unique.
Similar to how multiple individuals can share the same name in a location.
Different locations exist.
I wouldn't proceed if possible, though there shouldn't be significant problems.

Computer already had names changed. Just a stubborn mind. Required some encouragement to get things done properly. Thanks.
