I have an HP Elitebook 840 G6. It stopped working yesterday without any obvious cause. I suspect it might have fully discharged, though there was no damage. Now, when not connected, pressing the power button causes it to light up, with the charge indicator flashing orange briefly, then switching to alternating orange and white for a short time before turning off. When plugged in, nothing changes. I've tried unplugging the battery and resetting it, but it doesn't work. Can you assist?

Can you verify the charger brick's output by checking its labeled voltage specifications?

This would be the initial step I'd examine. If it's working correctly, the subsequent items in the sequence would likely be the charging port and the battery. After that, probably a shop.
