Question How do I tell if my laptop gets charged from a power source?
I have a Toshiba Satellite L845-SP4146KL computer running Ubuntu 22.04. My old battery died, so I tried to buy a replacement but it isn't certified yet. Even though the seller says they tested it and it works fine when plugged in directly from an outlet, my new test battery won't charge up at all. After only thirty minutes, it barely shows 5% left. The seller thinks this might be because the motherboard is broken instead of just the battery, so they don't have a certified one to compare against. I'm worried the hardware itself isn't working right, and I'd rather spend the extra money on a real test battery ($60) than guess if it's a bad battery or a bad board. Would you recommend buying that certified battery?
Hi guys, my old power source died before me and now I'm buying a new one because this laptop is really old. Since it's old, the warranty doesn't cover a replacement like that.
