Question How do I make my graphics card go faster on each piece of work it does?
For whatever reason only in Overwatch does my GPU not boost much. It sits around 1500MHz instead of boosting up to 1900MHz+. Because of this I can't get a stable framerate of 144+ which really infuriating. Is there any way to force my GPU to run at a higher core clock speed? Or is there a different solution? My GPU is at 50c while playing, so there is a lot of headroom. 2700X RTX 2080 +75 +750 16GB 3200 -16 18 18 36
Which version of Nvidia drivers are you using? Did removing the old ones (using DDU) and putting them back change how things work for you? If it only happens in Overwatch, try changing your resolution or turning down game details to see if that helps bring your GPU clock speed back up.
Driver version: 430.86. I tried messing around with in-game settings and render scale, which made my card boost a bit higher (nearly 2000MHz on max, 200% rs), but my FPS is now capped by those details so I can't hit 144 frames anymore. I'm going to reinstall the driver using DDU later, let's see if that helps.
There were about six threats at around twenty percent, while there were four threats at about forty percent. This matters depending on which map we are playing on, but the GPU was used between ten and twenty percent. Of course, a 2700X processor is strong enough for the game Overwatch?
I reinstalled driver 430.86 using DDU and now my frame rate is higher, but my CPU clock sometimes drops a little from about 270 to 120 for a few hundred milliseconds when it should stay up to 1935MHz. Maybe I need to lower some settings? Also, why does reinstalling the driver fix this problem so quickly?
Because you updated your computer's Windows, Windows wants to be in charge. So it changes some driver software on other programs, picking one over another just because they have a new version or a newer date code. It doesn't notice that the other drivers are now outdated and out of sync with each other.
So much fun passes by, but now my screen flickers again. Since I started using that new graphics card and cleared up the old drivers with DDU, nothing seems to help. Do you guys have any other tricks or tips to stop this from happening? I'm really running out of ideas.
Overwatch has some cool settings that really stress out your graphics card and make your frame rate drop instantly. This Overwatch tweak actually sped up our frames per second by 50 percent. Check out this "one weird trick!" to get more frames in your game. www.pcgamer.com https://www.tweaktown.com/guides/7808/ov...ndex5.html The video shows a cartoon figure skating on a puddle. The first clip just shows the toon, but the second one reflects it like a mirror image. If you have two different cartoons or even more than one in your town on Windows, that can cause a surprise performance drop. The bigger the resolution and higher the frame rate, the bigger this problem gets.
