I acquired a fresh AIO, the Lian Li Gallahad Trinity II, after my previous one. The switch happened because it was around two years old and it was visibly aging, hitting high 90s in Destiny 2 (still fairly well optimized). The new one feels much better to play. D2 barely drops below 75 degrees, which is impressive! The main problem though is idle temperatures—especially when only Discord and Brave Browser are running—it sits comfortably between 55-60°C!

I’m going to admit it’s probably because the L-Connect 3 doesn’t recognize any fans at all. It does see the pump fan, so whatever curve it’s on, it’s trying to keep the CPU around the 60s range. Is there a way to fix this? Maybe a simple workaround? I’ve tried using Task Manager and ending processes for l-connect 1, restarting 3, but it didn’t help. If nothing works, should I be worried about gaming temperatures? The gaming performance is great, but it’s the idle temps that are bothersome.

Specs: i9-10900k, 3080 FTW3, 32GB RAM

Did you modify the firmware of the Lian Li devices and update the BIOS on your motherboard?
If not, reach out to the Tech Support Team.

An AIO cooler doesn't reveal its age after just two years of continuous use, even with a 24/7 operation period, as it typically comes with a 5-6 year factory warranty. The most probable cause is dried-out or leaked TIM paste and/or dust. Idle temperatures aren't critical but could be unusually high for various reasons, such as the pump RPM being set too low at idle, operating at full speed.
