Question GTX 960 2gb Palit jetstream OC
Question GTX 960 2gb Palit jetstream OC
Hi! I understand your situation. The card is already factory overclocked, and the GPU Shark reports a voltage limit. You might want to check if there are any other settings or tools available to push it further, or consider alternatives if needed. Let me know!
There are alternatives, but only if you have the means to replace the card. The BIOS can be altered, or you might bypass the hardware components on the card to cause it to misinterpret power and voltage thresholds. This approach is typically used with premium cards (often also reference models), so there may not be specific instructions for that model. Your experiences matter—what worked for others?
Usually when you already have max or locked voltages set on the GPU, and the core clock isn't willing to increase because of that, you can still push the memory clock quite a bit.
😉
However, the biggest gain comes mainly from the core clock, not the memory. There are very few exceptions among GPUs.
yes you can change the bios of the card just as eximo suggested, and it's completely safe if you don't make any mistakes. i once updated the gtx 970 bios for a friend since his device wouldn't boot properly or only briefly. i should mention that the maxwell bios editor is quite confusing for beginners—it took me around 40 to 60 minutes just to understand it correctly before making the changes. i managed to edit it successfully, but unfortunately the card still didn’t work. in short, i don’t advise doing this unless you have some experience with flashing and are comfortable with the maxwell bios editor.
