At $200, which option do you prefer: the MSI - MPG A1000G PCIE 5.0, 80 GOLD, or the Super Flower Leadex Titanium 850W 80+ Titanium?

Have you looked up reviews for either of them? The gold versus titanium debate wouldn’t significantly impact me because the difference would be negligible on my electricity bill... but you might have other motivations for picking one over the other, unrelated to your bill.

Z790 likely paired with a 13600K, any GPU under $400 available, but also needing seven drive slots filled and leaving room for future GPU upgrades.

It seems you're questioning whether such high power recommendations are reasonable, especially considering the options available.

AnandTech's 2022 review highlighted the MSI on my attention, yet they acknowledge that...
Top PC Power Supplies: Holiday 2022
"For those focused solely on peak performance and quality without a plan for a 4080/4090, the Super Flower Leadex Titanium 850W is clearly the superior option."
On the flip side, I can find a Corsair RMx 850W for $100. I’m prioritizing dependability and cost over energy efficiency. It’s clear I’ll need many drives connected to the main system, not in a separate bay. This supports the case for higher power usage. There’s a possibility of only a 50% chance I’ll upgrade my GPU within five years after setting this up. That reduces the need for that extra connector, which is definitely not essential."

I hadn't come across the Shift before, but it seems intriguing. That's why I pose such questions on the forum. Even if I could logically find an answer by myself, someone is likely to bring a fresh viewpoint.

Nonetheless, the frequent criticism I encounter regarding Corsair is that their cables are too short.

Lol, the real question is whether running at 1000W gives you multi-rail or not. Or are all the A-list PSUs already multi-rail these days? I’m pretty new to this topic—I only recently learned about "multi-rails" and was surprised since my current setup is a budget model.
