CPU test links:

GPU test links:

Stress test link:

Uncertain if these will help. Do you think it's a CPU problem? I've switched to a different motherboard and done another clean Windows install. Is the 1200w PSU sufficient? Everything seems normal on these tests. 😩

Cpu score: 14732*
Timespy cpu average: around 18000 at the time of this post.
[I'm not 100% sure on this one, but the B-series board may not be allowing the 12900K's everlasting turbo like the Z-series was. The i9 is the only one among the 12th gen cpus with the infinity duration turbo. BUT! This doesn't affect the cpu's performance in game; they are constantly changing workloads, thus the turbo boost duration constantly resets before it has a chance to expire.]
Gpu score: 19946
Timespy gpu average: around 20000 at the time of this post.
The average changes as more and more people run benches, and are skewed by LN2 and bad overclocks, thermal/power throttled cpu/gpu, and the ram used.
There's no 'stock' operation to compare to.
With a transient power spike of around 650w(+/-)
from the gpu
, 100w(?) from the cpu, and whatever piddly bits of power being drawn by the rest of the hardware... some games may see a max of around 800w during one of those transients???
Corsair's HX series is pretty high up there in quality too.
How about trying Port Royal? Maybe it'll trigger the pauses? Unigine Superposition and Heaven.
Could you give userbenchmark a go too? Maybe it'll turn up something.
If the pausing can't be triggered in anything else other than Elden Ring, then it's got to be a driver, or some setting... do you have rebar enabled by any chance?

I don't understand what rebar is. Here is a video of me going through this same area three times and experiencing freezing once after passing the fountain on my left and another after dropping down onto the small bridge. The freezing consistently occurs at these two spots, which I've been using for testing. It doesn't happen at all in the old system.
I'll try the other benchmarks you mentioned. Should I consider switching to a new CPU? Something less powerful but more compatible with everything—any suggestions would be appreciated. Perhaps a 12th gen i7 would work better, or maybe an i9 isn't ideal for all systems. Switching to AMD might help too. This is really confusing for me because in the new system I installed the 1070 and used RAM from the old setup, but the problem still persisted. My only guess is it's related to the CPU since that's the only part I haven't changed yet.
I'll share the results using the ASUS board next."

If you're unsure about it, chances are you haven't turned it on—it's set to off by default.
Nvidia's latest version doesn't always enhance performance; in some cases it can actually hurt it.
I think it's best not to introduce too many variables at once without more data. The more samples you gather, the clearer the picture becomes.
If this issue persists across other games or benchmarks using the same hardware, it might point to an Elden Ring optimization challenge.
Yeah, nothing out of the ordinary here. Everything seems fine.

looks similar
if it's exclusive to Elden Ring, then it's the game.
removing the Xbox Game bar on your PC might also assist.

This seems to be an encouraging update.

I first attempted this and it failed. Now I'm using it on a brand new Windows installation, but it still doesn't work. I believe the problem might be specific to 12th generation processors. Since they were released around the same time as the game, there could be compatibility issues. It seems I'll need to stick with an older system for Elden Ring and use the new one for other games.

I discovered the fix. For a 12th gen Intel CPU, turn off E cores in your BIOS. With the motherboard I currently use (MSI B660M), I could choose to limit it to just one core. It was set to all at first. After restarting, the freezing disappeared! I tested this section in the video five times and everything ran smoothly. This is why I found it on Reddit. Thanks everyone for your assistance. I plan to get a Z-series motherboard so I can disable all E cores.

It looks like they haven't fixed the performance issues yet when eCores are turned on. I'm starting to think this might have been built into the game from the beginning. It doesn't seem likely, given that most modern games don't face this problem and it was probably developed during the middle of production for these titles.
