I’d advise you in this matter. Based on what I’ve observed, the RTX 5070ti tends to run about 15-20% slower compared to the 5080. The 9070xt appears roughly 5-6% slower than the 5070ti. In the United States, the 9070xt is currently available near its MSRP of $600, though some models are sold at lower prices. The most affordable 5070ti cards are closer to $750.

In essence, here you’re likely experiencing a performance drop of around 5-6% versus the 5070ti, but you’re getting a significant discount. It’s definitely worth considering.

I recommend checking out reviews of the 9070xt on YouTube to hear others’ experiences. There are also videos showing transitions from NVIDIA to AMD hardware.

My perspective is clear: I’ve used both brands before. NVIDIA offers a robust feature set, which many appreciate. AMD will require drivers to adapt, but this generation has seen improvements in ray tracing compared to the previous one. While FSR4 is still solid and they’re moving toward DLSS, the main concern lies in older games or large DLSS-enabled libraries. AMD is catching up, but it shouldn’t be a major hurdle moving forward. Additionally, some older games still support earlier versions of FSR4.

If you’re primarily gaming, the 9070xt is a solid pick. If you also use your PC for work, there might be NVIDIA-specific features you need. However, if gaming is your main focus, the 9070xt remains a strong option and you’ll likely be satisfied.

If you’re looking to save money and want NVIDIA’s capabilities, the RTX 5070 12GB is a better alternative. Alternatively, you could explore the 9070 non-xt model if budget is a priority.

I would opt for the RX 9070xt. New drivers make it match the 5070ti and it's much more affordable. The RT performance isn't top-notch, but FSR has definitely improved compared to DLSS.

Interesting to note that hardware costs are higher in Romania compared to western Europe because of the elevated VAT rates.

Thank you, sir! I'll consider either the 5070ti or the 9070xt based on the prices I find for Christmas (hoping there are any deals). A 5080 wouldn't be a good fit since it only offers a slight improvement but at nearly double the cost in Romania. When I was younger, the gap between models like 970 and 980 or 1070 and 1080 was much bigger. I wouldn't choose non-XT or non-TI because my setup requires a 4k monitor and the extra power and higher clocks. Thank you for your response!

The performance gap is actually much smaller between the RX 9070 XT and RTX 5070 Ti, and the RTX 5080. The 5080 tends to be about 10-15% quicker on average. It's only noticeably faster in the RT, but I don't believe the price difference makes this small raster speed advantage worth it. It feels more like a mental hurdle for the card numbering than a real boost in performance.

Hey there, you're from Europe, right? I suggest ordering from Amazon Germany/France or sometimes England too. Compare the prices—you can find a 9070XT for around 600 euros, and sometimes even less. I adjusted my settings and ended up with a Steel Nomad score just slightly below 5080. It's the best value for money I've seen lately.

What is the price of an RX 9070 non xt close to you? If it's a bit lower, some adjustments might let you achieve performance almost matching an RX 9070 XT and RTX 5070 TI. Even without those changes, it stays within 10% of an RX 9070 XT and 15% of an RTX 5070 TI.

And if it’s much more affordable, the 9070 non xt could still be worth considering because it includes a 16gb vram. It’s really impressive with certain cards and technologies like dlss, fsr, and resolution scaling. I’ve managed to experiment with an arc b580 and using xess along with resolution scaling, achieving solid performance at 1440p from a $250 card. Things have changed significantly compared to the past, where you needed powerful GPUs just to run everything. Of course, you still want a strong GPU, but the software and technology we have today offer great possibilities.

Hi! That sounds like a smart plan—saving around 500-1000 RON (about 100-200 euros) is a good deal. I hope you can stick with it for 3 to 4 years and even upgrade later if needed. The extra 100 should cover the XT version and tweaking it to match a 5070ti or 5080. Thanks for the suggestion!
