Question Epson wf-3640 error code 0x9a
Question Epson wf-3640 error code 0x9a
Hi everyone. I'm working on resolving an issue with my wife's Epson wf-3640 printer. During startup, it spins a few times, then displays error code 0x9a and stops functioning. Rebooting or power cycling doesn't help. No paper jams or obstructions are present. This seems like a generic error, but I'm not sure if anyone has experience with it. I've tried using non-Epson cartridges and learned about Epson's firmware updates that may penalize users who deviate from their recommended products. I'm considering rolling back the firmware to see if that resolves the problem, but I'm stuck on the error screen. My wife is quite attached to her electronics and is frustrated because she got a new printer that's slow and noisy. I really value any advice you can offer. 😀
0x9A – Circuit malfunction (fuse blowout observed) • Printhead malfunction • Power Supply Board issues • FFC connection failure (disconnecting FFC/Head FFC is a problem) • Main board failure
Clean the print head
Verify the PSU board for any burning marks or defective parts in the printer
