Question Do CPUs receive additional revisions?
I recently purchased a 5950X for my AM4 board. I understand that Zen 3 had an issue known as Inception. Once the flaw was discovered, a fix was made that could reduce performance by up to 54% in certain tasks. Following the discovery of the vulnerability, did the production of that CPU include any hardware fixes so you could update the BIOS without completely losing speed?
I'm not clear on what you're referring to by Stepping. I don't know which version I have because it hasn't arrived yet. I'm just wondering if it makes sense that future chips would include hardware fixes so they wouldn't lose performance. Would you like to know if the 5950X did
