Question Cyberpunk 2077, strange static-like effects near the container boundaries
Question Cyberpunk 2077, strange static-like effects near the container boundaries
I'm dealing with a peculiar visual glitch that impacts the blue outlines and highlights around containers and items that can be selected.
A GIF illustrating the problem is available here: https://giphy.com/gifs/LPZxSXdeWE12MgSSAa
The issue shows static-like artifacts along the entire edge of the suitcase, affecting every container and item marked in this way.
I've adjusted various graphics settings in both the game and the NVIDIA profile—such as resolution, refresh rate, and more—but nothing resolves the problem.
Only disabling antialiasing in the engine configuration file seems to provide a temporary fix, though it significantly reduces overall visual quality.
I've also tried turning off DLSS upscaling, frame generation, RT, adjusting all toggles, disabling GSync, changing DLSS DLLs with DLSS Swapper, and tweaking many NVIDIA profile inspector settings, yet the artifact persists.
Please let me know if anyone has encountered this issue before and found a solution.
Really? I don't want to be harsh, but if you can't enjoy the game because of this, then maybe video games aren't your thing. I'm pretty sure it's an effect added by the developers to create some sort of static-like distortions from V's cyber-vision. And even if it wasn't, it's not like it's so distracting that it ruins the experience.
I don't consider myself a gamer, but I understand that many games draw attention to items that are relevant to gameplay. If the emphasis is just decorative, it's fine to overlook it.
566.36 is the most recent Nvidia driver without issues. Other versions released afterward don't resolve problems and often cause issues, particularly with 40 series cards. Game developers advise using 566.36, and Gamers Nexus recently posted a video urging Nvidia to improve their software. Please stop urging users to update drivers until the company addresses the issue.
I'm using BIOS 3.10 and don't want to upgrade to 3.20 because it might cause problems with my memory kit. I've tried the latest NVIDIA driver 572.83, but the problem continues, so I removed it using DDU and reinstalled 566.36, which is recommended for RTX 4000 GPUs. I performed a clean install with NVCleanstall and left out the NVIDIA App; Ansel and MPO are turned off. It's hard to say this isn't just a game bug or an anti-aliasing driver issue, since there are no other problems in the game. Even with DLSS (preset K, DLL 310.2.1.0), the only visual issue I see is this one specific problem. No other games have similar issues.
The problem continues even when FSR is active or frame generation is disabled. I've tried changing the Anti-Aliasing settings randomly using NVIDIA Profile Inspector, but it seems the engine doesn't respect those changes and relies on its TAA method. Removing anti-aliasing from the user.ini file fixes the issue, though it significantly affects visual quality without AA.
@Malber
"Annoying graphical artifacts" is a personal opinion.
Do you want to view the objects? Yes or No?
Is it really important if seeing the objects looks nice?
Games?

I don't control how my smoke detectors sound when they go off.
I just need them to work and alert me properly.
Game frustrations are at the bottom of life's challenges.
Ignore the annoyance.
Perfection isn't for everyone or every situation.
Just enjoy and play.
