Hello friends,
I'm getting ready to begin my new build but have a few questions that might need your help.
I cloned my SSD from an older system (500gb to a 2tb SSD) to install in my new setup. After the build finishes and I power on the system for the first time, what steps should I take besides updating the GPU drivers? It's been seven years since my last build, so I'm not entirely sure how to proceed.
Thank you for your support.

Assuming this is a whole different motherboard, you will probably need to do a full OS reinstall.
NOT just a clone of the old system.
OS, drivers, applications, everything.

Yes, everything is fresh including the motherboard. Will my OS (Windows 10) need to be updated? Can I download it directly from Microsoft's site? I’d prefer to stick with Windows 10 until I’m sure everything functions properly as it did before.
Thank you,
Jeff

Thank you for the update. I wanted to clarify how to reset this new 2tb SSD in my fresh system. I’m worried that using the old cloning enclosure might cause issues if I connect it to my current setup via USB. Will the system still recognize it properly, or could there be conflicts? Also, can I simply delete everything from the cloned drive without any problems?

In the updated setup, insert it using the Win 10 installation USB you generate, and adhere to the provided instructions.
Part II, Steps 6 & 7 address removing all partitions on the intended drive, and proceed accordingly.
Make sure only a single physical drive is connected during this installation.

The new computer must also be activated via Microsoft's system because it uses a different motherboard than the one currently active.
