Question "Clone Failed - Unable to Match Partition..."
Question "Clone Failed - Unable to Match Partition..."
Windows 10, Macrium Reflect Free cloning tool with a Sabrent USB dock.
While trying to clone my wife's hard drive, the Macrium program stopped and showed the message: "Clone Failed-Unable to Match Partition - Drive 1. Start Sector..."
I ran CHKDSK /R on her drive and a few other disk repair processes completed without errors.
The only possibility I have is that the partitions on the destination drive aren't being written over, which seems unlikely since I've used it before.
I'm using the destination HD for cloning on other computers, so that's the setup I'm following.
What should I do? Should I remove all partitions on the destination or reformat it?
Please clarify this situation.
The image I'm sharing shows what appears on the screen before starting the cloning process.
I also thought about wiping the drive, but I wanted your thoughts first.
Regarding Clone versus Imaging, I prefer cloning because if her drive ever fails (it tends to be old), I can simply remove the cover from her machine and insert the clone (bootable) to get back up.
