Hello everyone,
I'm working on organizing a new construction focused on video editing and gaming. I'm evaluating Intel and AMD options, like the Intel i9-14900 and the AMD 7800X3D. Your advice would be greatly appreciated based on your experience, not just personal tastes or brand preferences.
My main goal is to get a system that delivers top performance without being tied to a particular brand or model. If you have any recommendations that could help reduce costs while maintaining or enhancing performance, I'd love to hear them.
Thank you in advance for your helpful thoughts.

Why the 7800x3d and not the 7950x3d? Against the top CPU of Intel, you should match it with the best AMD option.
Now, the x3d models offer a strong edge in games that benefit from cache usage, though they lag in other titles and various aspects.
If you opt for the non-f version of the 14900, it includes an iGPU commonly used by video editing programs to significantly boost performance.
In the end, it depends on your needs—neither choice will leave you disappointed.

I would choose the AMD version, replace the 4070 with a 7800xt and use the RM850x power supply.

if you focus more on video editing than gaming, the Intel 14700k with its integrated graphics and fast sync option is ideal.
and you won't benefit much from DDR5 memory modules. save money by using a DDR4 motherboard and RAM.
if you opt for the Ryzen 7950X, use Noctua's AM5 mounting solutions.
