Hello,
I’m experiencing a problem where my FPS consistently reaches 90 ONLY in certain game modes within Call Of Duty MWII. When I switch between Raids, Cooperative, Warzone, or Multiplayer gamemodes, the cap remains at 90. In contrast, other modes like Cutscenes, Main Menu, or MP always allow up to 141 FPS (my limit being 144 Hz). As soon as I enter Warzone, the cap resets back to 90!

I’ve tried several solutions:
- Disabling Vsync in NVIDIA settings
- Adjusting Vsync in the game profile and NVIDIA Control Panel
- Turning off Full Screen Optimization
- Disabling Gsync
- Changing GPU scheduling and refresh rate settings
- Reinstalling or updating drivers
- Running the game in different display modes

I’ve also checked file integrity, tested multiple display configurations, and even reinstalled shader cache files.

It seems the issue appears to be specific to certain gamemodes rather than a general problem with the game itself. I noticed others have reported similar issues in other titles like League of Legends or Final Fantasy.

Details:
- CPU: i7-10700
- GPU: RTX 3070
- Installed on a decent SSD
- All system stats look normal, GPU can handle higher rates

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It was even capped at 60 FPS in some game modes, but after performing various tasks, I increased it to 90! (I’m not sure which method achieved this)

After numerous tests, reinstalling both the game and Nvidia drivers helped. Even resetting all settings on both the game and Nvidia didn’t fix the problem, leading me to suspect a Windows-related issue since no other program seems to interfere with the game. I’m now looking for ways to resolve it from within Windows.

I just noticed you were messaging me about this too, actually I've tried a much larger list than what's here.
In the end I understood it's built into the game, I don't know why or how it works... I checked if I could bypass it using config files but it didn't help.
Interesting that sometimes updates release an uncapped version or raise the cap a bit, and then it returns to normal.
It's frustrating even in Firing Range since you'd be practicing at half your usual FPS, not the typical level you'd prefer.
Is your game being capped during online matches and Warzone while playing? Or is it only on the main menu?

not limited in the menu - 60-87fps on mw2 screen but in game and loading screen since updates on mw2 and mw3 integrated I had a cap on warzone 60fps. But in the other new menu screen fps works fine. Loading screen used to be 120-220 and games 80 to 160 fps from multiplayer to warzone some updates like this keep messing fps up I guess

it seems the settings didn’t cap the FPS, warzone is more capable than mp and it will handle frames no matter what. after testing everything, it looks like this might be a game problem; “COD HQ” (mw2/3/warzone 2) had poor optimization too. i stopped after 73 hours on “The Next Gen of COD.”
