I've watched two different videos evaluating CPUs for creation purposes, not gaming. I rely on Premiere Pro to render and export video in 4K and 8K resolutions. One video recommended Intel is significantly quicker than AMD for this task, mentioning the U265K outperforms the U285K. The single-core performance was better with the 265. The 285 showed only minor differences, while most AMD CPUs lagged far behind many Intel models. Another video focused on exporting videos with Premiere Pro, where the tester used Puget and found all AMD CPUs underperforming Intel, especially at higher core counts. The results varied: Intel led in the first 20 minutes of export, but then lagged considerably afterward. By the end of the long export process, AMD kept pace with Intel.

People are observing these trends when comparing the two brands for creation tasks. I typically use H264 or H265 formats.

I work with Premiere Pro for rendering and exporting videos in 4K and 8K. It would be useful if you could interpret the specifications to your current system for better understanding. I see you have details in your signature area; please include your system specs in the thread body since these can change over time. This ensures the advice remains relevant for everyone involved.

I'm not really into advanced video editing, I just use 2k H264 with Movavi Video Editor. I looked at my 285K against my 9950X3D and found that 285K was quicker. However, I'm unsure about how much reading from and writing to the m.2 drive affects performance. The 285K system uses a faster SK Hynix Platinum P41 m.2 than the 9950X3D, so there might be extra time spent transferring data. Also, neither device has a GPU, making it hard to judge the impact of the GPU.

My system runs a X870E motherboard. No matter the CPU choice, I intend to install Corsairs DDR5 128GB (64x2) at 6400 MHz. For the graphics card, I was considering the RTX 5070Ti or 5080. The 5080 is priced at four grand and consumes too much power via the wires. My current CPU is a Ryzen 9950X. I was thinking about upgrading to the U265K, as its single-thread performance exceeds that of the 285K. I also have a Samsung 990 Pro for my SSD.
