Question ALL games experience FPS drops and freezing issues.
ASUS Prime a320m-k mobo paired with AMD Ryzen 3 2200g and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050ti. RAM upgraded to 32gb DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz (actual speed around 2133mhz due to motherboard limits). Power supply selected as Corsair 550X. Storage includes a 250gb SSD, 1tb HDD for OS, and an HHD 1tb for games. System runs Windows 10 home with CPU and DRAM automatically configured via AI Suite 3, no overclocking enabled.
Several users reported issues after increasing RAM from 16gb to 32gb and adding the 1tb HDD. Performance dropped significantly in Steam; games loaded normally but froze or experienced massive FPS drops when navigating menus. System responsiveness seemed tied to game demand—high-demand titles felt sluggish, low-demand ones played but lagged. Audio and mouse functioned correctly.
CPU usage ranged from 86-100% for high demand games, memory at 27%, GPU at 20%. Temperatures stayed between 56-60°C with CPU speeds between 2800-3525mhz and voltage around 1.264-1.351v. Medium demand games like Valheim showed 25% CPU usage, 17% memory, and 10% GPU load. Low demand titles such as Dorfromantik were playable but suffered from noticeable lag.
Ctrl+Alt+Tab to Task Manager revealed high-demand games were unresponsive. Latest drivers for both GPU and BIOS were installed. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Updated to the original 16 RAM modules, the impact on performance was minimal, making a problem with the new RAM improbable.
