Question Active USB caused the failure of two CPUs within a span of two days.
Delock Products 83415 Delock Cable USB 5 Gbps Extension, active 10 m is being used. I visited their website to confirm it’s the recommended and tested version. However, I’ve experienced two power supplies failing in just two days. The cable seems to be causing the issue. When connected, the power plug light on the cable lights up, indicating it’s receiving power even when not physically connected. Before the PSUs stopped working, the cable functioned properly and the scanner operated normally. Is the cable defective? I’m concerned about its quality since I invested a lot. Should I unplug it when not in use?
Do you have the complete system specifications, along with the brand and model of the power supply unit?
PSUs that were used:
1. Enhance ENP-7660B (600w)
2. EVGA 450W3
Construction:
Intel Core i7-4790 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor
MSI H81I Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard
Mushkin Stealth 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1600 CL9 Memory
Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
PNY VCQP600-PB Quadro P600 2 GB Video Card
No, that adapter won't function in my area. I'm using this one:

However, I recently discovered the problem. I accidentally unplugged the connected external power supply. The computer started on its own. After turning it off and back on manually, it worked properly. I tried using other PSUs to test. Everything is now functioning correctly.
Thank you for your assistance. Apologies if it took your time. This situation was unusual; I haven't encountered anything like this before. Going ahead, I plan to connect only the powered USB after the computer is on and only when necessary for the 3D scanner.
