Question about Xilence XP730R8 PSU and Radeon RX 6800.
To clarify the topic. I am considering upgrading my MSI GeFroce 2060 RTX video card to a Radeon RX 6800. I’ve heard that Sapphire or PowerColor manufacturers are recommended, and I’m checking if my power supply will support it, particularly regarding the PCI Express connectors. The GeForce card needs PCI-E 3.0 x16 connectors, while the Radeon requires 16x PCI-E 4.0 x16.
I currently have the Xilence XP730R8 PSU, but I can’t locate its specifications online, especially for the PCI-E connectors. Would anyone here have advice on this?
Extremely low grade, group controlled, operates at 230v only, weak protection features. Not advised for use with modern GPUs.
It's a solid choice to go with a 750w /850w Corsair Rm 750w Gold or an RM 850w Gold. It's a well-known brand with a good warranty, and I've been using them for four years without any issues. Depending on the 6800xt model, opting for a 750w minimum and 850w offers extra safety and future-proofing.
Yeah, even though I really dislike it (mainly because it means extra costs), I think it's time to move on. I'll go with the CM 850W MWE Gold.
