Question about Windows 10 digital key details
Are you using an OEM sticker on your PC or do you possess the genuine Windows 7 key? If yes, a new installation is always an option. Following this path means you must insert your Windows 7 key at setup time. Activating Windows 10 afterward prevents license activation. I’m puzzled about Microsoft’s requirement but have repeatedly failed to complete it. For a fresh install, entering the key during setup is essential for upgrades. If a clean install isn’t possible, the upgrade routes we discussed are the only alternatives I’ve explored. I haven’t personally faced this problem. Assuming my situation, I’d perform a fresh Windows 10 install using your key during setup. Keep in mind this method doesn’t retain your data—ensure you back it up properly. If backing up isn’t an option, run command prompt with admin rights and execute scf /scannow. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...ted-system
I don’t possess a Windows 7 activation key since this was a preinstalled setup. However, there’s a program available that can retrieve your product key. I’ll also scan for any damaged files using the file checker. I plan to visit the store this weekend to purchase an external SSD and back up my 150 GB of Steam games. Everything else can be reinstalled. I’m hoping everything proceeds smoothly. Thanks for your assistance. If I run into further issues, I’ll share them here.
