hello i have an r5 1600AF with an asus b450m-a
16 gb ram, 3200mhz, 2x8 gtx 1650 super
1 tb hdd plus 500 hdd
changing the cpu core ratio from bios auto to 3.6 or higher keeps the system stable, but when playing cod warzone 2.0 or apex legend it hits full disk usage, causing fps drops and making the game unplayable. switching back to auto fixes this. i suspect the issue isn’t with ssd but with the disk usage spike only when manually adjusting the cpu core ratio. it’s still running smoothly at around 3.5 to 3.7 when set to auto anyway, but i don’t understand why this happens 😅

I didn't update because the next one was better for the latest CPU support, so I'm unsure if it will work with my system. I might need a newer CPU, which isn't ideal given my budget and the motherboard I have.

100 disk usage is frequently encountered in Windows 10 and 11. My laptop's hard disk seems to be struggling with this problem. Consider switching to high performance mode under power management initially before exploring further.

Did you notice any changes to the PCIE clock? Or did you rely on the auto settings in the BIOS? I believe boosting the PCIE clock in the BIOS can lead to problems with storage, Wi-Fi, or USB if it becomes unstable. FSB or BCLK speeds might also cause issues with other components like SATA, RAM, and M.2 drives. It’s better to keep them unchanged to maintain stability.

Overclocking isn’t recommended—use manual settings instead. Look for the optimal multiplier at stock voltage until instability appears, then gradually increase the voltage in small increments. Run a CPU stress test and monitor temperatures closely.

Good luck!
